(Via Video Conference) Mr. N.I. Khan, Mr. Amlan Kumar Mukherjee ...for the petitioners Ms. Chaitali Bhattacharjee, Mr. Avishek Prasad ...for the State Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

The writ petitioners are licensed to ply autorickshaws between Rajpur Kareganga to Raghunathpur (Route No. 322). They are being obstructed and assaulted by some persons, who are plying auto-rickshaws unauthorizedly on the said area.

The petitioners complain that despite formal intimation, the Sonarpur Police Station has not taken any steps to protect them.

Ms. Chaitali Bhattacharya, learned counsel for the State submits that the Sonarpur Police Station held meeting with the petitioners and since then the entire route is peaceful and there is no disturbance in the area.

Counsel for the petitioners denies the same.

It is submitted that the petitioners are still being assaulted and harassed.

In that view of the matter, the Officer-inCharge, Sonarpur Police Station shall immediately attend to and address any complaint, received from the petitioners as regards the physical assault or obstruction from any persons including the private respondents.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

The instructions of the Inspector-in-Charge, Sonarpur Police Station dated 13.12.2022 may be kept with the record.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
