PP Mr. Imran Ali Ms. Debjani Sahu ... for the State The petitioner is directed to serve a copy of the revisional application upon Ms. Sahu, learned advocate who ordinarily appears on behalf of the State. Her appointment may be regularised by the concerned authorities.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that he was arrested on May, 2022 and since then he is in custody. The investigating agency has submitted charge-sheet and the prosecution has relied upon 8 witnesses and all the witnesses belonged to the government department. He also submits that charge has been framed on 03.11.2022 and dates which were fixed from January, 2023 to June, 2023, none of the witnesses could be examined till date. Having regard to the witnesses not participating in the trial, the reason of anxiousness of the petitioner seems to be justified.

In view of the aforesaid, I direct that the learned special court would communicate with the Superintendent

of Police or the Commissioner of Police who are responsible to maintain a register by ensuring the progress in NDPS cases. The office of SP would ensure that henceforth from the date so fixed all the witnesses so relied upon in the present case are available before the court.

No unnecessary adjournment should be granted to either of the parties.

Learned Public Prosecutor conducting the case would produce the materials, documents and exhibits on the date so fixed for examination of the witnesses.

Learned special court once in every 2 months would fix a schedule of 3 dates for examination of the witnesses. Efforts be taken by all the stakeholders for concluding the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 2384 of 2023 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is consequently disposed of.
