IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA

Item No.39 CRIMINAL REVISIONAL JURISDICTION Ct.No.34 dc.

C.R.R. 2530 of 2022 In the matter of : Satyam Mondal ... Petitioner.

Mr. Tapodip Gupta ... For the Petitioner.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for about 25 months and till date, out of 16 witnesses, proposed to be examined, none of the witnesses has been examined.

I have considered the anxiety expressed by the petitioner and I find that the same is justified. The learned trial court on the next date so fixed would notify the Superintendent of Police of the concerned district as to why the witnesses are not appearing before the court, although the petitioner is in custody for about 25 months. The concerned Superintendent of Police, in this case, would ensure regarding the witnesses being present on the dates so fixed by the learned trial court.

The learned trial court is directed to fix schedule consisting of three dates once in every 45 days so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time.

No unnecessary adjournment should be granted to either of the parties.

Learned public prosecutor conducting the case would ensure regarding the production of materials, documents and

exhibits on the dates so fixed for examination of the witnesses.

All stakeholders should cooperate with the learned trial court to conclude the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 2530 of 2022 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
