The petitioner seeks a new registration mark on removing his vehicle from Karnataka to Bankura, West Bengal, and for new registration of his vehicle pursuant to the change of his address.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the application was made for change of mark by the petitioner on 2nd July, 2021 and a Note Sheet was given by the authority on 6th July, 2021 requiring the relevant documents for the change of address. The petitioner thereafter made an application for reply with reasons from the Regional Transport Officer, Bankura for his failure to register his vehicle under the particular jurisdiction. Learned counsel produces a communication dated 25th October, 2021 from the Regional Transport Officer, Kasturinagar, Bangalore (East), which shows that the petitioner was not able to complete the process online due to technical glitch of the concerned office. The letter further shows that all relevant particulars relating to the petitioner's vehicle have been approved by the State Administration of the Department, Karnataka.

Learned counsel appearing for the State submits that the respondent no.2 being the Regional Transport

Officer, Bankura, may be directed to consider the petitioner's application for change of address in the light of the new document received by the petitioner from the Regional Transport Authority, Bangalore.

In view of the above, W.P.A.16453 of 2021 is disposed of with a direction on the respondent no.2 being the Regional Transport Officer, Bankura, to consider the application made by the petitioner for change of address and assignment of new mark in the light of the letter written by the Regional Transport Authority, Bankura and dispose of the same within three weeks from the date of communication of this order. The concerned authority shall be at liberty of hearing the petitioner or any other party, if so required.

The petitioner, in any event, shall furnish a copy of the order within a week from date. Needless to say, the petitioner shall also furnish a copy of the letter dated 25th October, 2021 to the respondent no.2 along with this order.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
