The petitioner seeks electricity connection for operating submersible pump.

He is aggrieved by the quotation raised by the Distribution Company Limited, which, according to him, is highly exaggerated. He filed a representation before the Station Manager, Sagardighi Customer Care Centre, WBSEDCL dated December 1, 2023 (Annexure P4, p.14) mentioning that out of twenty-eight poles required to give electricity connection to his land, twenty poles have already been installed and, accordingly, the quotation amount is liable to be reduced. The said representation is yet to be considered by the concerned authority. 3.

Learned advocate representing the Distribution Company Limited submits, on instructions, that the petitioner earlier agreed to pay the amount mentioned in the quotation sheet. Now, the petitioner cannot turn around and submit that the quotation amount is an inflated one.

Without entering into the controversy with regard to the quotation amount quoted by the Distribution

Company Limited, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Station Manager, Sagardighi CCC, WBSEDCL, the second respondent herein, to consider the petitioner's representation dated December 1, 2023 and pass a reasoned order which shall be communicated to the petitioner.

It is made clear that this court has not commented anything with regard to the amount mentioned in the quotation sheet.

Electricity connection, if any, shall be provided to the petitioner only upon compliance of all necessary formalities. 6.

Steps shall be taken by the second respondent at the earliest but positively within four weeks from the date of communication of this order.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the order dated July 14, 2023 passed by this court in WPA No.16347 of 2023, the provisional quotation dated August 1, 2023, the representation dated December 1, 2023 and the subsequent quotation dated April 16, 2024 to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating this order.

Instructions, signed on August 14, 2024, filed on behalf of the respondents be taken on record. 9.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court.
