For KoPT It is submitted on behalf of the Kolkata Port Trust (in short "KoPT") now known as Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, that the Pension Payment Order (in short "PPO") for family pension in favour of the petitioner has been issued after passing of the order dated 23rd February, 2022. Learned advocate for KoPT, on instruction received from the Senior Accounts Officer, Pension Section, KoPT, submits that the family pension amount is expected to be disbursed in the first week of April, 2022 and it will be directly credited in the bank account of the petitioner. On a query from Court, this amount, according to the learned advocate for KoPT, will include the current family pension as also the arrears.

As the PPO has already been issued and has been admittedly received by the petitioner, I think nothing

further remains to be adjudicated, including arrears of family pension, if any. However, it is made clear that the issue as to interest on arrears of family pension if any will re-open in the event the arrears along with current amount is not paid by 30th April, 2022. It is expected that KoPT will act in accordance with the submission made by their advocate on instruction.

The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon compliance of necessary formalities.
