The petitioner prays for a direction upon the Howrah Municipal Corporation to conclude the proceeding initiated under Section 177(1) of the Howrah Municipal Corporation Act, 1980.

It appears from the documents annexed to the writ petition that notice dated May 25, 2022 under Section 177(1) was issued by the Assistant Engineer/SubAssistant Engineer. The Corporation is yet to conclude the said proceeding.

The instant writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing the respondent no. 4 to take steps to conclude the proceeding initiated by the notice issued

under Section 177(1) at the earliest but positively within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

A final order shall be passed by the aforesaid respondent and communicated to all the parties. Opportunity of hearing be given to all the parties prior to taking a final decision in the matter.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
