The appeal is arising out of an order dated 17th May, 2023 in a writ petition in which the present appellant claimed engagement in Civic Volunteers instead of Traffic Warden under the State Administration.

It appears that during the pendency of the writ petition, an order was passed on 14th December, 2022 directing the Superintendent of Police to consider their representation and on that basis, the Superintendent of Police passed an order from which it is revealed that the petitioners were attached as Traffic Wardens since long and therefore, the names of the petitioners were included in the enrolment list of Civil Volunteers.

The appellants before the learned Single Judge had submitted certain documents to show that they worked as Traffic Warden on various dates from 2012 till 2015. However, continuity in service was shown. In any event they could not produce any document to show that they were on the pay roll in 2016. The record reveals that 126 Traffic Wardens were engaged in 2016 however, the names of the petitioners were not present in view of the fact that their names were not present as Traffic Wardens

and they could not produce any document to show that they were in the pay roll in 2016.

Under such circumstances, we do not find any reason to interfere with the order passed by the learned Single Judge. The appeal fails. The appeal and the application are thus dismissed. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
