The writ petitioner is aggrieved due to nonconsideration of his prayer of change of place of business, vide representation dated February 27, 2024.

Mr. Sanat Kumar Ray, learned counsel is appearing for the writ petitioner. He submits that in terms of Section 49 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, his client is eligible to register change of address of his business.

He seeks an appropriate order in this case.

Mr. Pantu Deb Roy, learned Additional Government Pleader is representing the State. He however, submits that the status and petitioner's eligibility or lack of the same is yet to be updated on the E-Vahan portal, which in a way is not enabling the concerned respondent to consider petitioner's prayer, as above. 6.

After considering the submissions of the learned Advocates as above and the records before me, the

present petition is disposed of with the following directions:- (i). Let the respondent no. 2 dispose of the writ petitioner's prayer by dint of letter dated February 27, 2024 after affording opportunity of hearing to the writ petitioner and by dint of a reasoned order. (ii). In doing so, the concerned respondent shall take assistance of the National Informatics Centre, for due updation of the portal, as is necessary for smooth discharge of business of the office of the concerned respondent.

(iii). The entire exercise as above shall be concluded within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of copy of this order.

(iv). The order of the respondent no. 2, so delivered, shall be informed to the writ petitioner within one week thereafter.

Since no affidavits are called for, allegations made in the writ petition, are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.

This writ petition being WPA No. 16360 of 2024 is disposed of, along with the pending applications, if any.
