Case no. 1651 of 2013 pending before the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, 8th Court, Calcutta now redesignated as learned Judicial Magistrate, 8th Court, Calcutta, the matter may be disposed of without service of notice upon the opposite party. The opposite party shall not be prejudiced by an order directing expeditious disposal of the matter.

It appears that the FIR was lodged on 20th May, 2013 and charge-sheet was submitted upon completion of investigation against two accused persons on 17th December, 2013. The case record was received by the learned trial Court for disposal on 18th January, 2014. Summons was issued upon accused and since then several dates have been fixed for service return, next date being on 13th September, 2024. As the matter is pending since long, learned trial Court is directed to exhaust all necessary steps for securing the attendance of the accused persons in the matter and dispose of the matter within two years from the next date of hearing fixed before him without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties. C.R.R. 2574 of 2024 is disposed of.
