The petitioners are participating in the forthcoming Panchayat Elections. They are accused in minor offences in respect of FIR No.55 of 2023 dated 26th May, 2023 registered by the Khatra Police Station and FIR No.84 of 2023 dated 26th May, 2023 registered by the Simlapal Police Station.

In view of the similar orders being passed in number of cases, let no coercive measures be taken against any of the petitioners by the State Police in respect of the pending FIRs or any other proceedings that may be registered against them until 15th July, 2023. 3.

The investigation in respect of any of the pending FIRs or that may be registered against the petitioners, shall, however, continue.

The petitioners in the meantime shall be at liberty to apply for bail or take out any other proceedings in accordance with law.

The petitioners shall be free to campaign in the aforesaid Panchayat Elections. They shall, however, communicate in writing to the police stations named above, of their places of residences where they are normally available and their contact numbers. 6.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

7.

There shall be no order as to costs.
