Santra ...For the Petitioner Mr. Soumya Majumdar ...For the University Petitioner is the widow of late Prasenjit Sanpui, who was a senior laboratory assistant under Jadavpur University. He died in harness on August 13, 2020. The petitioner made an application before the University for her appointment on compassionate ground on May 13, 2022. The petitioner prays that her prayer should be considered by the University in a time bound manner. Mr. Majumdar, learned advocate appearing for the University does not oppose the prayer and submits that the application will be considered in terms of the decision taken by the executive council of the University relating to compassionate appointment.

Accordingly, WPA 15832 of 2022 is disposed of with a direction upon respondent no. 2 to consider the case of the petitioner within a period of one month from date and communicate the decision to the petitioner by one week thereafter.
