Order dictated in open Court by Apurba Sinha Ray, J. Learned Counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner has been languishing in the judicial custody for one year and ten months. Considering the period of his detention and also the fact that investigation is complete, he may be granted bail on any condition.

Learned Counsel for the State has submitted that there is sufficient incriminating material against the present petitioner. The petitioner has been identified in TI Parade and booties were recovered from his possession. There are six other criminal cases of almost similar nature pending against this petitioner. Learned Counsel has also pointed out that the petitioner is a resident of Bihar and if he is enlarged on bail, he may abscond.

After going through the material in the case diary, we find merits in the submission of learned Counsel for the State. There is sufficient incriminating material against the petitioner and there is a possibility of absconsion if the petitioner is enlarged on bail.

Considering all the aspects of the matter, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage. The prayer for bail is, accordingly, rejected. CRM (DB) 1998 of 2024 is dismissed.
