The petitioner laments that he was appointed as a Computer Operator in the year 2013 on a contractual basis at Kazi Nazrul University. At that point of time the petitioner used to receive Rs. 15, 000/- per month as his remuneration. Subsequently, the university reduced the remuneration of the petitioner to Rs. 8,500/- per month.

Presently, the petitioner is working as a contractual Junior Assistant at the said university. It is the prayer of the petitioner that he should be given a permanent post in view of his continuous service rendered to the university.

Learned advocate appearing on behalf of the university submits that since the initial appointment of

the petitioner did not conform to the relevant recruitment rules, he could not secure a permanent post. The petitioner participated in the selection process for regular appointment but could not succeed. It has further been submitted by the university that having regard to the dedicated service rendered by the petitioner for the last eleven years, the university is inclined to take some measures to improve the service condition of the petitioner.

In that view of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the Vice-Chancellor of Kazi Nazrul University to take steps to ameliorate the service condition of the petitioner. These measures may include an increase in the monthly salary of the petitioner and provision of additional benefits aimed at his social security.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 15514 of 2023 is disposed of.
