And In the matter of: Hellal Khan .... Petitioner Ms. Shabana Hasin ...For the Petitioner The petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of N.D.P.S. Case No. 124/2019 under Section 21 ( c ) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, pending before the learned Special Court under N.D.P.S. Act cum A.D.J., 2nd Court, Berhampore, Murshidabad. It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that, the dates for evidence have been fixed by the learned Judge in the Court below in different occasions, however, recording of the evidence has not yet commenced.

In this pandemic situation, it is not expected that the learned Judge in the Court below shall proceed with the trial at a normal pace.

However, keeping in mind the innocuous nature of the prayer made in the petition, this application is disposed of with a direction upon the learned Sessions Judge in the Court below to make an endeavour to expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournments to the either of the parties.

Accordingly, CRR 2078 of 2021 is disposed of. (Kausik Chanda, J.)
