The only grievance of the petitioners who are the members of Bidisha Co-operative Housing Society Ltd., Phase II, (hereinafter referred as 'the said cooperative society'), is that although the life of the board of directors of the said cooperative society ended on October 18, 2019, the respondents have not taken any steps for holding the election. Having heard Mr. Nayak and Mr. Surekha, learned advocates for the State and the West Bengal Cooperative Election Commission respectively, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction upon the respondents to ensure that the process of election of the said cooperative society is initiated forthwith.

The entire process of election shall be completed within a period of three months, from the date of communication of this order.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.

Parties are to act on the server copy of this order.
