The petitioner no. 1 is a contesting candidate in the ensuing Panchayat elections. He claims that he belongs the rival political party. After filing his nomination the petitioner no. 1 received threat and intimidation by persons claiming to be members of the ruling party. They threatened him and his family members and persons in the locality against voting in favour of a particular political party.

In that view of the matter the Raghunathganj Police Station shall deploy one constable for a period of three days as security for each of the petitioners. 3.

The Raghunathganj Police Station shall ensure that the petitioners and their family members return to their house and campaign peacefully.

It shall be ensured that no coercive steps are taken against the petitioners or their family members until July 15, 2023 in any pending cases or any new case that would be registered against the petitioner or his family member and the proforma respondent.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
