Ms. Arpita Jana Mr. Pritam Sarkar ...for the petitioner Mr. Nilanjan Bhattacharjee Ms. Jayita Dhar Chakraborty Mr. Rhitam Chatterjee ...for the State The petitioner has submitted a representation before the District Land & Land Reforms Officer, Paschim Medinipur by a letter dated 10th April, 2025 praying for permanent settlement of RS no. 17/61, 17/62 and 17/68 in Mouza Narampur, J.L. No. 174, under Police Station Midnapore in the District of Paschim Medinipur. The learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that in spite of receipt of such representation, the respondent authority has not taken any step to communicate the decision on such representation to the petitioner till date. After going through the representation submitted by the petitioner and the averments made in this writ petition, this Court finds that the petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the authority under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 which is a specified Act under Section (r) of the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997.

In view of the alternative and efficacious remedy available under the 1997 Act, this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition.

This writ petition stands dismissed as not

entertained.

It is, however, made clear that this order shall not preclude the petitioner from approaching the appropriate forum in accordance with law on the self-same cause of action.
