Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner has lodged a complaint before the local police authorities and then before the Commissionerate alleging commission of offences inter alia under Sections 498A, 326 and 506 of the Penal Code. Yet, no steps have been taken by the respondent authorities. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits that a police case has already been started in this regard and is being investigated now being Dum Dum PS Case No. 375/23 dated 12.07.2023

under Sections 498A and 506 of the Penal Code. I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels for the parties and have perused the writ petition. Since the petitioner's prime grievance that no steps were taken for registration of an FIR has already been redressed, no further orders need be passed in this case. Let investigation be done into the alleged offences in accordance with law.

The respondent authorities shall also keep a sharp vigil on the locale and see to it that no untoward incidents take place.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
