78 persons have applied in a single writ petition for renewal of arms licence.

This Court does not see any reason to entertain the instant writ petition of 78 persons and that too for renewal of arms licence. The motive and purpose of said 78 persons have not been properly explained. Such combined application and that too for renewal of an arms licence is absurd and cannot be permitted. The instant writ petition is dismissed in so far as the petitioner nos.2 to 78 are concerned. It shall only be entertained so far as the writ petitioner no.1 is concerned.

In that view of the matter, the application of the writ petitioners, no.1 for renewal of arms licence, which is pending with the District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas may be considered in accordance with law, at his convenience.

There will be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
