Report submitted by the State is taken on record. It appears from the report that the prosecution has no objection in returning eight of the nine vehicles pertaining to the present application since charge sheet has been submitted and there is no clear evidence that the vehicles were used for the purpose of commission of the crime. Vehicle bearing registration no. WB59A4097 belongs to Hazi Nejamuddin who is not a petitioner herein. The report indicates that the ownership of a vehicle without a number plate having Engine No.JF50E74048367 has not been established. The petitioners have not sought return of this vehicle. The case before the learned trial Court has ended in acquittal of the petitioners.

In view of the above, the Inspector-in-charge, Chopra Police Station, Islampur Police District is directed to take necessary steps for return of the vehicles bearing registration nos. WB74 B2196, WB74 BM 5193, WB92B6031, WB60 H1811, WB60 D1550, WB92 C2495, WB74 BE2123 and WB73 D9712 in favour of the petitioners within a fortnight from date upon the petitioners producing relevant documents pertaining to their ownership before the authority.

CRR 2707 of 2024 is disposed of.
