1. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner, being a tenant of the concerned premises, applied for an electricity connection. However, the CESC Limited has not yet given such connection.

2. Learned counsel for the CESC Limited submits that the CESC Limited has already written to the petitioner disclosing that there is an apprehension of splitting of load.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner disputes the contention and submits that such connection has to be given to the petitioner as per law.

4. Be that as it may, since the CESC Limited specifically opposes the electricity connection of the petitioner on the ground of splitting of

load, the matter falls for factual determination before the appropriate authority, that is, the Grievance Redressal Officer.

5. Hence, WPA No. 15771 of 2023 is disposed of by granting the petitioner liberty to approach the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer for resolution of the dispute.

6. If so approached, the Grievance Redressal Officer shall decide the same in accordance with law, preferably within six weeks from the date of approach of the petitioner.

7. There will be no order as to costs.

8. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
