Report filed by the District Engineer, Howrah District CESC Limited dated November 21, 2024 is taken on record.

It appears therefrom that an inspection was conducted and it has been found that technically it is feasible to accommodate one more single meter at the service position where there are already two meters. 3.

In view of the report that has been filed, CESC Ltd. is directed to provide for a loop meter in the name of the petitioner to be affixed at the existing meter board. The meter shall be installed upon compliance of all statutory formalities and on payment of the necessary charges.

The CESC personnel may take the assistance of the police, if required, subject to payment of charges by the petitioner.

Installation of meter will not create any right or equity in favour of the petitioner who claims to be a tenant in the subject premises.

Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of compliance of all necessary formalities. 7.

Report filed by the Officer-in-Charge, Shibpur Police Station signed on 21st November 2024 is taken on record.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

9. Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
