Manna .... for the petitioner Mr. Subrata Dasgupta ... for the State After hearing learned counsel, WPA 16183 of 2022 is disposed of with a liberty given to the petitioner, who is a law clerk in the office of the BL&LRO, Contai, to apply for enrolment and issue of licence under the relevant provisions of The West Bengal Law Clerks Act, read with The West Bengal Law Clerks (Preparation and Maintenance of Roll) Rules, 2007. Once such application is made before the concerned authority, which according to counsel, is the State Council under Section 3 of the 1997 Act. The concerned Authority/Licensing Authority shall act upon the application and dispose it of within four weeks from the date on which such application for enrolment or licence is received. A copy of the decision shall be made available to the petitioner within one week from the date on which such decision is taken.
