An adjournment is sought on the ground of absence of learned counsel for the Staterespondent. However, since learned counsel seeking adjournment is also on the State panel, her appearance on behalf of the State-respondent is directed to be regularized.

A copy of the writ petition be handed over by learned counsel for the petitioner, over and above the writ petition served previously, to the learned Advocate for the State during the course of the day.

In view of the innocuous prayer made in the writ petition, no adjournment is granted.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners have, for the purpose of running an eatery, applied for certain licences before the respondent authorities, which have not yet been granted by the respondent authorities. Hence, WPA No. 15793 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the respondent authorities to consider and decide on the applications/representations for licences given by the petitioners, as annexed to the writ petition, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within three weeks from date, and intimate the outcome thereof to the petitioners.

It is made clear that the merits of the entitlement of the petitioners on the said applications have not been gone into by this court and it will be open to the respondent authorities to decide all such questions in accordance with law. There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
