1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.

2. The petitioner is aggrieved by the failure on the part of the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 15th May, 2024. The petitioner claims to be an informant under the provisions of the Income Tax Reward Scheme.

According to the petitioner, on the basis of the petitioner's information an informant code was generated. Subsequently, the petitioner was not made aware with regard to the outcome of his information. The petitioner also appears to have made a representation on 15th May, 2024. Such representation, till date, has not been disposed of by the respondents.

3. Mr. Kundalia, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the Income Tax Authorities would, however, submit

that steps are being taken to inquire into the matter.

4. Having regard to the aforesaid and taking note of the submissions made by the respective parties, I am of the view that the present writ petition can be disposed of by directing the respondents to forthwith take steps for redressal of the grievance of the petitioner made in his representation dated 15th May, 2024, by passing a reasoned order to the extent permissible in law.

5. The order so passed shall be communicated to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order to the respondents.

6. With the above observations and directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of requisite formalities.
