The petitioner no. 1 is an approved Assistant Professor at Bejoy Narayan Mahavidyalaya, District of Hooghly, a college under the Burdwan University. The petitioner no. 2 is an approved Assistant Professor at Sripat Singh College, DistrictMurshidabad, a college under Kalyani University. The petitioners are professors of the subject Botany. The petitioners have applied in prescribed format for mutual transfer, their such applications are pending consideration before the Director of Public Instruction, Higher Education Department, Government of West Bengal, the respondent no. 3 herein, since January 2024.

The petitioners are praying disposal of their said applications.

The respondent no. 3 is directed to consider and dispose of the application of the petitioners for mutual transfer as expeditiously as possible in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order

and the said respondent, after such disposal, shall communicate his decision to the petitioners.

Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.

W.P.A 15727 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
