The petitioner's prayer for inter-district transfer on the ground of distance and being a surplus teacher in the school is pending consideration before the West Bengal Board of Primary Education.

Without entering into the merit of the said application, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Secretary, West Bengal Board of Primary Education to take a decision on the prayer of the petitioner in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of 120 days from the date of

communication of this order. A reasoned order shall be passed and communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation seeking transfer along with all documents in support of his prayer to the aforesaid respondent at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

With the above observations and directions this writ petition being WPA 15767 of 2025 stands disposed of.

However, there shall be no order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties, upon usual undertakings.
