The petitioner says that he is in custody for about two years. Witness action has not begun. There is huge delay in progress of the trial. He should be granted bail. While opposing the prayer for bail, learned Advocate for the State points out from the material in the case diary that 447 bottles of phensedyl syrup was seized from this petitioner. This petitioner has several antecedents.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and the material on record, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage.

Therefore, the prayer for bail is rejected.

The application being CRM (DB) 1044 of 2024 is accordingly dismissed.

However, since the petitioner is in incarceration for quite some time, we direct the learned Trial Court to do everything Signed By :

possible to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date and definitely within eight months from the next date fixed for recording of evidence which we are told is July 26, 2024. This order shall be immediately communicated by the parties to the learned Trial Court.
