The petitioners say that they are in custody for one year and four months. Witness action has not begun. Nobody knows when the trial will conclude. They should be enlarged on bail. We see prima facie from the material in the case diary that these petitioners are the kingpin of a racket of trafficking in minor children. Given the prima facie incriminating material against them and the deleterious effect that such heinous activities have on the society at large, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioners' prayer for bail, at this stage.

CRM (DB) 2058 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.

However, considering that the petitioners are in custody for quite some time, we direct the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial to the fullest extent possible and conclude the same at the earliest and definitely within a period of 18 months from the next date fixed for trial.
