The grievance raised in the petition is that the funds which were allotted for the plantation of trees in the forest area under MGNREGA scheme have been misused and misappropriated.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has pointed out that the petitioner had submitted the representation dated 24.01.2022 to the respondent no.5, District Magistrate, Purulia and in pursuance thereto the petitioner was given an opportunity of hearing by the Additional District Magistrate (General), Purulia but thereafter the outcome has not been communicated. He has also submitted that an enquiry and spot inspection is required to be carried out.
Learned counsel for the State also does not dispute that in pursuance to the petitioner's representation the Additional District Magistrate, Purulia had given notice of hearing on 24.03.2022, but thereafter progress is not known.
In the aforesaid circumstances, we dispose of the present petition by directing the respondent no.5 to conclude the enquiry which has been initiated in pursuance to the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2022, if not already concluded, after the spot inspection and field survey, to ascertain the correctness of the allegation made by the petitioner and to pass a reasoned speaking order and duly communicate the same to the petitioner.
Let this exercise be completed within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
