Read order dated July 08, 2024. After that order was passed, four more witnesses have been examined, i.e., five out of ten witnesses have been examined. We are told that August 21 and 22, 2024 are fixed as the next schedule. The report filed by the State be kept with the records. In view of the progress made in the trial and keeping in mind the restriction of Section 37 of the NDPS Act, we are not inclined to allow the prayer of the petitioner for bail. However, we direct the learned trial Court to conclude the trial as soon as possible without granting unnecessary adjournments, positively within six months from the next date fixed for examination of witnesses.

We clarify that in the event the trial is not concluded within the time period indicated herein, the petitioner will be at liberty to renew his prayer for bail.

The application for bail being CRM (NDPS) 1049 of 2024 is, thus, dismissed.
