Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that initially there was some resistance from the respondent no.4 in the petitioner getting electricity connection. Learned counsel for the CESC Limited submits, on instruction, that although originally there were certain hitches, now the CESC Limited has taken an inspection and is ready to issue an estimate to the petitioner within two days.

As such, WPA 15977 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the CESC Limited to issue an Offer Letter to the petitioner for giving new electricity connection to the petitioner at the existing meter board position at the premises-in-question within July 17, 2023.

Thereafter, the petitioner shall comply with all due formalities for getting the connection within a week thereafter.

The CESC Limited shall give such connection to the petitioner within a week from compliance of all formalities by the petitioner.

In the event any obstruction is raised from any quarter in the CESC personnel doing so, it will be open to the CESC personnel to approach the respondent no.3, the Officer-in-Charge of the Ballygunj Police Station, who will render adequate police assistance at the cost of the petitioner if occasion so arises.

If need be, it will be open to the police personnel to break open any padlock or other hindrance for the purpose of giving such connection There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
