Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the widow daughter of the employee of the University in question. In 2017, the petitioner's mother was recommended for compassionate appointment. However, no steps were taken. In 2020, the mother crossed the age of 59. Therefore, the petitioner applied for compassionate appointment in her place. But, this was not considered by the respondent authorities. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State denies the allegations and submits as follows. The death of the employee took place in the year 2010. There is much delay in praying for compassionate appointment. One cannot even say that there is any immediate financial necessity to deal with.

Be that as it may, it appears that the petitioner's

prayer for consideration of her case for compassionate appointment has not been decided formally by the respondent authorities.

Let the respondent authorities being the respondent no.3 consider the representation/application for compassionate appointment made by the petitioner within a period of six weeks from this date. The decision arrived at shall be communicated to the petitioner within a week therefrom.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

However, the merits of the case have not been gone into.
