The petitioner prays for interest on terminal benefits in the nature of gratuity from 1st February 2002 to October 2004, arrear pension from 1st February 2002 to August 2003 and commuted value of pension from 1st February 2002 to August 2004.

Having considered the facts of the case, as disclosed in the writ petition and in view of the settled law that delay in payment of terminal benefits attracts interest, the aforesaid benefits shall be paid to the writ petitioner and shall carry interest at the rate of 7% per annum.

The said interest shall be released to the writ petitioner into his pension account within a period of four months from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
