1. On behalf of the petitioner it is submitted that in view of the fact that the present accused petitioner is languishing in judicial custody for more than one year and 11 months, the instant application for bail may be considered favourably.

2. While opposing the prayer for bail learned Counsel for the State submits before this Court that there are eyewitnesses to the effect that the present accused petitioner demanded money from the victim and on his refusal the present accused petitioner stabbed the victim in open market.

3. We find sufficient justification in the submission of learned Counsel for the State.

4. Considering the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer for bail. The prayer for bail is rejected.

5. The application being CRM (DB) 2064 of 2024 is accordingly dismissed.

6. Before parting, we request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial and conclude the same as expeditiously as possible preferably within one year from the date of communication of this order.

7. Parties are directed to communicate this order to the learned Trial Court.
