1. This writ petition has been filed as public interest litigation pointing out various issues with regard to maintenance of the hygienic atmosphere in the area falling within the jurisdiction of Kolkata Municipal Corporation as well as Howrah Municipal Corporation.

2. The writ petition has been pending since 2007 and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation has filed its latest report dated 22nd April, 2022 today which is taken on record. A copy of the report has also been furnished to the petitioner appearing in person.

3. Since by efflux of time there has been a lot of change in the situation, we direct the petitioners to examine the report and, if any, further grievances are there, the petitioners shall bring it to the notice of the Municipal Commissioners of Kolkata Municipal Corporation as well as Howrah Municipal Corporation who take appropriate action on the representation with regard to any fresh issues which

are pointed out by the writ petitioners. If the action taken is not to the satisfaction of the writ petitioners, it will open to them to avail appropriate remedy in accordance with law.
