Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 358 days. Co-accuseds are on bail.

Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes prayer for bail. He submits that the principal accused, Sunita Sharma is still absconding.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner is the husband of the victim housewife. There are allegations that they had tortured her which compelled her to commit suicide. Co-accused, Sunita Sharma is still absconding. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
