Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is the brother-in-law of the victim deceased. The principal accused being the husband was in custody. He has been granted bail now.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits as follows. The incident happened within a year of marriage. A minor was married off to the principal accused. She was tortured by all inlaws including the present petitioner for dowry. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the de-facto complainant opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail.

Considering the incriminating materials available in the case diary and the fact that anticipatory bail application of similarly circumstanced co-accused was rejected by this Court on 05.05.2025 in CRM (A) 1427 of 2025, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is rejected. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
