Mr. Kashiswar Ghosal ....for the petitioner Sk. Md. Galib, Ms. Subhra Nag ...for the State The Superintendent of Police, Hooghly (Rural) Police District, has filed a report dated 20.09.2022, addressed to the learned Government Pleader. The same is taken on record.

It appears from the report that the allegations made by the petitioner have been very carefully investigated by the S.P., Hooghly and have not been found to be substantiated. It is also informed by the S.P., that the said constable Dhananjoy Khan, was part of a police team that had found the petitioner's older brother with arms and ammunitions, which resulted in an FIR and a charge sheet. The petitioner's brother is now on bail.

It is also informed that the said Dhananjoy Khan has since been transferred to Khanakul Police Station.

The petitioner also did not turn up to the office of the SDPO upon being called by the S.P. for the purpose of the enquiry as directed by this Court.

In view of the above, this Court is of the view that the matter needs to be put to rest. The Superintendent of Police, Hooghly (Rural) Police District shall, however, consider any further complaint against any of the other officials of Arambagh Police Station and take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

The personal presence of the Superintendent of Police, Hooghly (Rural) Police District, on virtual mode, is dispensed with.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
