1. The affidavit of service filed today is taken on record.

2. The petitioner is aggrieved that his retiral benefits were not paid to him till a delay of 28 days and 360 days.

3. The petitioner claims interest for this delayed period. The petitioner retired on March 31, 2024 and was paid his retiral benefits in two installments. The first installment of Rs. 14,94,977/- was paid on April 29, 2024 and the second installment of Rs. 33,84,866/- was paid on March 26, 2025.

4. The petitioner is aggrieved with these late payments.

5. As this issue has now been conclusively settled by a Division Bench of this Hon'ble Court in a matter in APOT 243 of 2022, there is no further issue, which remains to be adjudicated.

6. The respondent authorities are directed to pay

interest at the rate of 6% per annum from April 1, 2024 till April 28, 2024 on Rs. 48,79,843/- and from April 30, 2024 till March 25, 2025 on Rs. 33, 84,866/- to the petitioner.

7. Let such payment be disbursed within July 31, 2026. In default, the rate of interest shall stand enhanced to 10% per annum.

8. The Principal Secretary, Department of Finance, Government of West Bengal, is directed to ensure that such amount is disbursed within the afore-stated timelines in favour of the petitioner.

9. With these afore-stated directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

10. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.
