1. The affidavit of service filed today is taken on record.
2. The petitioner is aggrieved that his retiral benefits were not paid to him till a delay of two months.
3. The petitioner claims interest for this delayed period. The petitioner retired on July 31, 2021 and was paid his retiral benefits on October 8, 2021.
4. The petitioner is aggrieved with this late payment.
5. As this issue has now been conclusively settled by a Division Bench of this Hon'ble Court in a matter in APOT 243 of 2022, there is no further issue, which remains to be adjudicated.
6. The respondent authorities are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum from August 1, 2021 till October 7, 2021 to the petitioner.
7. Let such payment be disbursed within July 31, 2026. In default, the rate of interest was stand enhanced to
10% per annum.
8. The Principal Secretary, Department of Finance, Government of West Bengal, is directed to ensure that such amount is disbursed within the afore-stated timelines in favour of the petitioner.
9. With these afore-stated directions, the writ petition is disposed of.
10. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.
