Sumita @ Sunita Maity filed this application under consideration seeking quashment of proceeding being G.R. Case No. 135 of 1993 arising out of Contai P.S. Case No. 49 of 2013 dated 23rd February, 1993 under Section 306 of the Indian Penal Code. Now the police report reveals that the petitioner Smt. Sumita @ Sunita Maity passed away on 26th March, 2022. Co-accused Soma Maity passed away on 18th May, 1998. Chandan Maity was not sent up for trial. With the death of the two accused persons the criminal proceeding abetted as a whole by operation of law. Thus, the criminal revision has become bereft of merit and is disposed of. The report submitted by learned Counsel representing for the State as to the death of thee accused persons are taken on record. Let a copy of this order along with lower Court record be sent down to the learned Trial Court for information and necessary compliance.

Urgent certified copy of this order, if applied for, should be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
