Mr. Jayanta Narayan Chatterjee Ms. Moumita Pandit Ms. Jayashree Patra ... for the petitioner Mr. Santanu Deb Roy ... for the State The present revisional application has been moved praying for expeditious disposal of proceeding in relation to Joynagar Police Station vide First Information Report Case No.1332 of 2015 corresponding to G.R Case No.8515 of 2015 and S.C Case No.8(6) of for the offence punishable under Section 326/326A/367/120B of Indian Penal Code pending before the learned Additional District Judge, Baruipur.

It is submitted that the petitioner is an acid attack victim. It is further submitted that the present case was registered on 17.11.2015 and till date even the charge has not been framed. It is also submitted that almost 50 dates have been fixed but even the learned Public Prosecutor has not taken any initiative to have the trial concluded expeditiously.

From the order dated 07.07.2023 in Sessions Case No.8(6) of 2017 pending before the learned Assistant Sessions Judge, 2nd Court, Baruipur, South 24 Parganas. It appears that one of the accuseds Saifuddin Molla @ Baddi was produced from the custody. It also appears that there is no progress in the present case and the

trial court is prima facie not making any endeavour to dispose of the case expeditiously.

Considering the nature of the case, delay in proceeding with the trial by the trial court, is against the interest of justice. The revisional application is accordingly disposed of in presence of the learned counsel for the State with a direction to the trial court to make all endeavour to dispose of the trial finally within a period of six months from the date of this order without granting any unnecessary adjournments and making all endeavour to fix short dates or consecutive dates for trial and dispose of the case within the period directed.

Criminal Revision being CRR 2024 of 2019 is accordingly allowed and disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, shall be supplied to the learned counsel for the as expeditiously as possible, in compliance of usual formalities. ( Shampa Dutt (Paul), J. )
