For the alleged contemnor The present contempt application has been preferred alleging violation of an order dated 15th March, 2024 passed in the writ petition being WPLRT 44 of 2024.

Mr. Rath, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that only after filing of the contempt application, an order passed by the alleged contemnor on 3rd May, was communicated on 18th March, 2025. Immediately thereafter the certified copy of the said order was applied for on 3rd April, 2025 and the same has been supplied on 4th April, 2025. Thus, now in the event the statutory appeal is filed, the same would be time barred.

Mr. Dey, learned advocate appearing for the alleged contemnor submits that the delay which occurred in communicating the order passed by the alleged contemnor is neither intentional nor deliberate.

In the conspectus of facts and for the ends of justice, we grant liberty to the petitioners to file a statutory appeal challenging the order dated 3rd May, 2024 along with a certified copy of the order, which has already been supplied on 4th April, 2025, within a period of 4 (four) weeks from date.

We make it clear that in the event such statutory appeal is filed within the period of 4 (four) weeks from date, the same shall be heard by the appellate authority on merits and disposed of, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. With the above observations, the contempt application is disposed of.
