Anima Maity v. State Of West Bengal & ORS
ss/jks 08.02.2022 WPA 15358 of 2018 Anima Maity Vs.
The State of West Bengal & Ors.
(Through Video Conference) Mr. Jahar Lal De Ms. Smita Das De ... ... for the State This petition was filed in the year 2018 and thereafter more than three years have passed and no one is present for the petitioner today to prosecute it. On perusal of the record it is noticed that the petitioner is aggrieved with the inaction on the part of the concerned authorities in considering the representation dated 31.07.2018.
The allegation of the petitioner is that the benefit of National Scheme for Welfare of Fishermen, 2016 launched by the Central Government has not been extended to the petitioner and some other active fishermen of her locality, therefore, the representation dated 31.07.2018 was filed by her seeking the benefit of the scheme but the same has not been decided. Leaned counsel for the State fairly submits that there is no objection in deciding the representation within a time bound period.
Hence, the present petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no.4, the Assistant Director of Fisheries to take an appropriate decision on the petitioner's pending representation dated 31.07.2018 as
expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Learned counsel for the State is directed to communicate a copy of this order to the respondent no.4 expeditiously.
