1. Heard the learned Counsel for the parties.

2. We have perused the case diary.

3. The allegation is that the accused persons along with others used to intercept all goods vehicles which travelled through their village and extorted illegal donations from the drivers of the said vehicle. It appears from the case diary that on the date and time of occurrence they intercepted a trailer and when the driver of the trailer refused to fulfil their illegal demand for money, the driver was assaulted and the trailer was damaged. It appears that several police personnel were injured when they were trying to discharge their duties and the petitioner is one of the persons who had assaulted the police personnel while on duty.

4. On such consideration, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, the application for anticipatory bail is rejected.
