27.07.2022 sdas rejected C.R.M.(NDPS) No. 845 of 2022 In Re:- An application for bail under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Basirhat Police Station Case No. 193 of 2020 dated 11.02.2020 under Section 21(C ) of the NDPS Act.

And In Re : Anjuyara Bibi .... petitioner Mr. Ashok Kumar Chowdhury ....for the petitioner Mr. Sudip Ghosh ...... for the State Petitioner renews her prayer for bail.

Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submits she is in custody for two years and five months. Learned Counsel appearing for the State opposes prayer for bail.

We have considered materials on record. Statements of witnesses and seizure memorandum show recovery of narcotic substance above commercial quantity from the petitioner. Her bail prayer was rejected earlier.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.

Trial court is directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same at an early date without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
