Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for one year eight months and although charge has been framed in the year 2024. There has been hardly any progress of the trial of the case. Prosecution intends to examine 8 witnesses.

Learned advocate appearing for the State submits that the petitioner is thickly connected with the offence, 7500 bottles of phensedyl were recovered and the delay in the trial cannot be attributed to the prosecution as the Court was on leave.

Having considered the quantum of seizure, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner being CRM (NDPS) No.901 of 2025 is rejected.

The learned trial Court would ensure some progress in the trial having regard to the period of detention of the petitioner.
