The tenure of the last elected board expired on August 28, 2022.

Currently, the Society is being managed by the highest-paid employee of the Society. A direction in this regard was issued by the concerned Assistant Registrar of the Cooperative Society.

It appears that some members of the Society have submitted a representation to the West Bengal Cooperative Election Commission, requesting the holding of the election. However, this representation has not yet been addressed.

In light of the circumstances, I direct the Election Commissioner of the West Bengal Cooperative Election Commission to take all necessary steps to conduct the election of the Society at the earliest, and preferably within a period of six months from the date of this order.

Accordingly, WPA 17110 of 2024 is disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on compliance of usual legal formalities.
